CAREER
Ugur Icbak is an award winning Director of Photography with a very wide range of experience from feature films ,TV commercials ,music videos to documentary films. He was graduated from MSU-STM Film institute in Istanbul, and he has 17 years professional experience as a cinematographer.
He is dedicated to achieving and maintaining high professional standards. He has developed a reputation for creative and technical reliability during his career. He shot more than 1500 commercials,60 music videos ,8 feature films (4 of them big budget corporate projects) He always keeps in touch with modern lighting fixtures and camera equipments. He has extensive experience with most types of camera equipment both film & digital ranging from 35mm to HD and Mini DV. He can create film look ,with the video formats .He is very good at creating, lighting designs for each set and painting with light. He easily finds creative solutions for placing the camera, movement and the lighting at the practical locations. He is interested in with the techniques ,both traditional and the digital. He used in- camera special effect techniques successfuly in his feature film career.
He also has a small plane and a private pilot licence as well as 200 hours of experience for aerial photography. He can arrange all kind of helicopters and planes in Turkey.
As a freelance cinematographer based in Istanbul. He is available to work anywhere in the world.
He is a tutor at the Tursak,(Turkish Foundation of Cinema & Audiovisual Culture) for 4 years.
He has taught film, video and television production techniques and lighting design, ranging from workshops in the Film schools, to lecturing at university level.
